چکیده
Background: In an experimental model, telomere shortening inhibits neovascularization. It is thus possible that might have a role in the pathogenesis of geographic atrophy case age-related macular degeneration (AMD). This why we aimed to find any associated differences length and genetic variants telomere-related genes (TERT, TERT-CLPTM1, TRF1, TNKS2, TRF2) patients with atrophic AMD compared healthy controls. Methods: The study enrolled (n = 56) 73) controls. Samples DNA from peripheral blood leukocytes were extracted by salting-out method. genotyping TERT rs2736098, rs401681 TERT-CLPTM1 locus, TRF1 rs1545827, rs10107605, TNKS2 rs10509637, rs10509639, TRF2 rs251796 relative leukocyte (T/S) measurement carried out using real-time polymerase chain reaction results assessed statistical analysis method “IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0“.Results: We found statistically significantly higher T/S than controls (T/S, median (IQR): 1.638 (1.110) vs. 0.764 (0.801), p < .001). Also, significant rs10107605 allele (A C) distributions between control groups (88.36% 11.64% 95.54% 4.46%, respectively, .041), as well short long (86.92% 13.08% 96.09% 3.91%, .008).Conclusions: Our research revealed having development, also association length.

Lack of association between leukocyte telomere length and genetic variants in two ageing-related candidate genes.
BACKGROUND Leukocyte telomere length, a putative marker of ageing, is a highly variable and heritable complex trait. In order to determine the possible underlying genetic variants for leukocyte telomere length variation, we conducted an association study of leukocyte telomere length and two candidate genes for ageing-related traits, TGFB1 and KLOTHO, in a female Caucasian dizygotic twin populat...
متن کاملControl of human telomere length by TRF1 and TRF2.
Telomere length in human cells is controlled by a homeostasis mechanism that involves telomerase and the negative regulator of telomere length, TRF1 (TTAGGG repeat binding factor 1). Here we report that TRF2, a TRF1-related protein previously implicated in protection of chromosome ends, is a second negative regulator of telomere length. Overexpression of TRF2 results in the progressive shorteni...
متن کاملLeukocyte Telomere Length-Related rs621559 and rs398652 Genetic Variants Influence Risk of HBV-Related Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Recent genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified eleven leukocyte telomere length (LTL)-related single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Since LTL has been associated with risk of many malignancies, LTL-related SNPs may contribute to cancer susceptibility. To test this hypothesis in hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), we genotyped these eleven LTL-related...
متن کاملTelomere Length, TERT, and miRNA Expression
It has been proposed that miRNAs are involved in the control of telomeres. We test that hypothesis by examining the association between miRNAs and telomere length (TL). Additionally, we evaluate if genetic variation in telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) is associated with miRNA expression levels. We use data from a population-based study of colorectal cancer (CRC), where we have previously...
